Mrs. Valerie Ann Mcclain

On January 8, 2024, we bid farewell to our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. The beautiful Mrs. Valerie Ann McClain was born February 15, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late JB West Sr. and the Late Juanita West Baniel.

The beautiful Valerie McClain was one of the most caring, and loving people you could ever have met. One whose house sheltered many and whose grill fed plenty.

Valerie graduated from Ruben Daniels in 1980 and attended Delta College. She retired from Plastech. Valerie was a member of Word of Faith International Ministries. Valerie loved spending time with family, grilling, traveling, going to the casino, playing spades and dominos, and listening to the blues.

Valerie leaves to cherish her memory her husband Kent McClain; three sons, Marshall West, Lorenzo Farrow, and Ivory D. Ellis; four bonus children, Rahnesha West, Paris Donald, Frederick, and Paul Blunt; one stepson, Alonzo Jenkins; six grandchildren, Marcellus Houze, Jalen Caffey, Austin Farrow, Houston Farrow, Haven Caffey, and Taylor King; two sisters, Mary West, and Denise Boose; five brothers, Ricardo West, Johnathan(Robin) West, Sonnie (Joycella) West, Craig (Bridget) West, Willie Jr. (Angela) Baniel; nieces, Shafeka Ramsey, Juanita, Alexis, Kayla, Sunni, and Tammie West, Daisy and Tiarra McDaniels, Sparkalena Boose, and Celes Hambrick; nephews, Thomas and Quintel West, Jessie and Jason Donald, Craig West Jr., Brandon West, Camille Baniel, Isiah Baniel, Brenita West, Rahim West, Rickel and Ricky Ruffin and JB West Jr., a host of cousins; two aunts, Clotee (Ron) Fuller, and Dorothy Scott; two uncles, John (Mary) Lewis, and James Lewis; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Brenda Ellis, Beverly Noel, Maxine Howard, Debra Gartley, Kimberly Garthley, and special cousin, Priscilla Smith.

Valerie was preceded in death by her parents JB West Sr. and Juanita West Baniel, stepfather, Willie Baniel Sr., brother JB West Jr., sister, Lanita Donald, stepbrother, Jimmie Baniel, and nephew, Jermaine Boose.
