Nadine Bonds

Mrs. Nadine Bonds, 74, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center in Saginaw, Michigan. She was born on January 12, 1949, to Silvanah Menzies and J.D. Burnett, in Dorena, Missouri.


Nadine, a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. She dedicated her life to helping raise some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting the casino, and playing her favorite daily games at home. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. Nadine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.


She leaves to cherish loving memories four sons, Clinton (Johnnie Mae) Bonds, David, Lawrence and Willie Bonds; three sisters, Lizzie Carruth, Flora Burnett, and Queen Laster; many grandchildren including Mike Donald, Shelton Dawkins, Christinia, Precious, D’Angel, Faith, Brooksey, and TyBrea Baker, Ashley Olgesby, David and Laura Sheppard, Clinton “Barry” Bonds Jr., Lawrence Bonds Jr., Carl, Jeremy, Lamario, Quentori, LaBranden, Landen, Lauryn, Floyd Jr., and Adriane Bonds; many great-grandchildren; seven nieces, Jetta Burnett, Andrea Johnson, Tonya Burnett, Kenya Menzies, Patricia Cotton, Angela Bashley and Beverly Richmond, both of Missouri; ten nephews, Sherwood (Dana) Burnett, O.C. (Stephanie) Cutts, Jack Laster, Ervin Laster, Augusta Weatherspoon, Dereon (Latosha) Weatherspoon, Timothy Menzies, Tony Cotton, Charles Smith Jr., and Perry Smith, both of Missouri; seven sisters-in-law, Martha Weatherspoon, Claudia Thompson, Esther Baker, Marilyn Hines, Judy Marshall, Phyllis Marshall, and Ruby Menzies; two brothers-in-law, Robert and Anthony Baker.


Mrs. Bonds was preceded in death by her parents, Silvanah Menzies and J.D. Burnett; husband, Willie James Baker; daughter, Mary Jane Baker-Bonds; son, Floyd Bonds; sisters, Eddie B. and Geneva Menzies; brothers, Paul, L.C., Ernest, Roosevelt, John, Bobby and Robert Menzies; nephews, Paul Menzies, Maurice Burnett, daughters-in-law, Bobbie Bonds, and Natasha Frazier; brother-in-law, Milton Marshall; and sister-in-law, Annie Mae Smith.
