Namon Grant (Holt)

September 19, 1934 — December 5, 2018

Mr. Namon Grant passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Sparrow Hospice House in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 84. He was born September 19, 1934 to Reverend Jason Grant and Ora Mae Hubbs in Permon, Kentucky. He was one of ten siblings.

As a young man, Namon (better known as Red) met the love of his life, Barbara Grant, whom he married on April 19, 1956 In Willow Run, Michigan. They were married for 61 wonderful year and were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Gail and Michelle.

Red was a devoted husband and father and was known for his friendly smile, red hair and servant's heart. He was a man of character and touched lives in many ways. Red enjoyed vegetable gardening, NASCAR racing, the Detroit Tigers, and routing for his college football favorites! We cannot forget all the card and board games he played for many years! It was a favorite pastime for the whole family.

Red leaves many who cherish his memory; his lovely daughters, Gail (Grant) Beck of Traverse City and Michelle (Grant) Richardson of Wixom; five grand-children, Jeffrey A. Caskey, Kristine R. (Caskey) Cook and Lindsey L. (Koenig) Scranton, all of Traverse City, Brandon J. Henson of Brighton and Joshua T. Sanders of Royal Oak; one sister, Jackie Faye (Grant) Clay. He also had six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara on June 8, 2017; his parents, and eight siblings.
