Nasir Lemar Owens

July 15, 2000 — December 15, 2018

Nasir Lemar Owens blessed the world with his presence on July 15, 2000 in Saginaw, Michigan. The son of Tameera Henderson and Austin Owens, he brought immediate joy to his parents and family. He was a beautiful baby boy with a beautiful smile that will never be forgotten. He passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the sweet age of 18 years.

Nasir was a senior at Bridgeport High School and was graduating this June with the Class of 2019. He was a two-sport student athlete, playing both varsity football and varsity baseball. His plans post-graduation were to enlist in the United States Army and see the world. He had passed his ASVAB test and was ready for the next chapter of his life. A young man with a hard work ethic, he was also employed at Pinnacle Foods.

Nasir believed in God and accepted Christ at a young age. He was a faithful and active member of Refuge Center Outreach Ministries. He enjoyed playing video games, meeting new people and being playful and silly. He loved fishing, traveling and taking pictures. To him, Facebook and social media was a way of life.

Nasir, an Arabic masculine name, means “helper” or “one who gives victory.” This name also means supporter and protector. Nasir embodied this name to the fullest and lived out its meaning. Fly high Nasir and continue to support us and protect us from above.
