Nathaniel "Lamont" Cooks

Mr. Nathaniel “Lamont” Cooks passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 56 years. He was born April 12, 1965, to Carrie Cooks Townsend and the late Nathaniel Cooks.

Nathaniel “Lamont” attended Saginaw Public Schools, obtaining his diploma from Adult Basic Education. He worked several years at the Savoy Restaurant, and was currently employed part-time at the Artisan Bistro. Lamont loved spending time with his family and friends.

Memories of Nathaniel “Lamont” will be cherished by his son, Nathaniel; mother, Carrie Cooks Townsend; siblings, Patricia Lynette Cooks, and James Edward (Bridgett) Cooks; special friend, Dureen Donald and her children and grandchildren; many cousins, special co-workers who reached out and supported him during his work experience and illness; nieces, nephews, friends from 12th Street neighborhood too numerous to list.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel; brother, Derrick; grandparents, and stepfather, Clarence Townsend.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff at Seton Cancer Institute, Dr. John Bartnik, Dr. Bei Liu, and the staff at Oncology Hematology Associates, Lonnie Paser and the staff at Artisan Bistro.
