Mr. Nathaniel Van Taylor
, age 90 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. He was born January 10, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Gene Carter and Esther Taylor.


Mr. Taylor was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1951. Nathaniel participated in Track & Field at Saginaw High School and was a member of the 1951 Track & Field championship team. He also attended Bay City Jr. College where he also ran track and yes, again won a championship. Nathaniel enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 29, 1951, serving until August 22, 1956. During that time, he participated in Track & Field, and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Taylor received an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his military service. After returning to Saginaw, Nathaniel attended Central Michigan University. His employment included the United States Postal Service from 1955 to 1987, substitute teacher in the Saginaw Public School District, and Pinkerton Security Services. His hobbies included softball, blooper ball, golf, chess, ballroom dancing, listening to music, and traveling. Nathaniel will be missed by all who knew and loved him.


He leaves to cherish loving memories one daughter, Toni Taylor; two sons, Trent (Vickie) Taylor, and Eric (Cheryl) Taylor; grandchildren, Celeste Miller, Darius Taylor, Monique Taylor, Cheldora Haynes, Karnitha Culpepper and Denise Culpepper; great-granddaughter, Mallorie Stewart; three nieces, Rachelle Taylor, Dawn Moore, and Rhonda Blackmon; a great-niece, Jessica Davis; nephew, DeWayne Taylor; sister-in-law, Mrs. Cora Taylor; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Peggy Bailey, friends of ballroom dancing, golfing, and morning breakfast gatherings.


Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, George “Buddy” Taylor, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
