Ms. Nora Lois Turner, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan. Age 76 years. She was born October 28, 1945 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to Estelle Collins.
Nora, a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, was a member of Truevine Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor Paul E. Broaddus. She enjoyed attending church services at Truevine and attending events of Saginaw Valley Baptist District Association Parent Body and Women’s Auxiliary, and Wolverine State Missionary Baptist Convention. On many occasions, you could find Nora upstairs at the Convention “Headquarters” assisting with food preparation and/or serving. She also enjoyed volunteer work at the Community Action Committee (C.A.C), shopping, eating at various restaurants, dancing, and singing. Above all, Nora loved her family and being with them. Spoiling her grandchildren was one her favorite things to do. She was employed by Maplewood Manor. Nora was willing to assist anyone in need, and she found joy in doing so. She is greatly missed.
She leaves to cherish loving memories, a daughter-in-law, Sandra Collins; loving grandchildren, Ebony Collins, Dallas, Texas, Cira Carter, Saginaw, Michigan, Teeaira Collins, Dallas, Texas, Chance Bowen, Flint, Michigan, and Terrance Dennis, Saginaw, Michigan; adored great- grandchildren, Madison Collins and Tá Naeya Dennis; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; a dear aunt, Bertha Lay; many other relatives and friends including special friends Mattie, Mary Alice, Mary Hunter and Ms. Dorothy.
Nora was preceded in death by her mother, Estelle Collins; son, Willie Collins; brother and sister, Curtis and Jewel.
