Norma Clark-Thomas

August 16, 1948 — January 21, 2018

Our beloved mother, granny, great granny, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend, Norma Thomas went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the age of 69 years. She was born on August 16, 1948 in Saginaw, Michigan to James Clark, Sr. and Sona Carruth.

Norma was a member of the Greater Renaissance Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Cedric R. Cheatham. She was educated in the Saginaw Public Schools and was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1967. Norma worked hard to raise her daughters and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 2001. She was a member of UAW Local 699.

Norma leaves behind a lasting legacy and her memories will forever be cherished by her loving daughters: Tricia Pruitt, Belleville, MI; Cheryl (Jonathon) Hardy, Saginaw, MI; and Ericka (Marcus) Thomas; Saginaw, MI; step-daughter Sharawn Erwin, Saginaw, MI.; and a daughter that she raised as her own Brenda Humphrey, Grosse Pointe, MI; nine grandchildren, Calvin Pruitt, Diamond Thomas, Marquavis Thomas, Jayden Hardy, SaVod Worthington, Reona Worthington, Arkishia Sewere, Asia Humphrey, and Darius Humphrey; six great-grandchildren, Calvin, Nya, Jayla, Dalya, London, and Lyric; eight sisters, Leona (DeEddie) Spates, Saginaw, MI; Jamesetta (Emmitt) Christian, Decatur GA; Marcetta (Frank) Dillard, Auburn Hills, MI, Odeania Carruth, Sona Carruth, Charlotte Carruth, Brenda McFarland, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Patricia Harris, Hampton, VA; one brother Stevie (Ann) Carruth, Danville, IL; three nieces, Tiny, Kayla, and Sherry; seven nephews, Kill, Perry, Rocky, Cel, Mel, Mac, and Pooh Man; a special great niece, Ree-Ree; five aunts, Rosie (Thomas) Bell, Dunnellon, FL; Revenia Brewer and Barbara Pickett, Gary IN.; Connie Hart, Pontiac, MI.; and Hazel Johnson, Chicago, IL; three uncles, Frederick Washington, Saginaw, MI; Jerry Gray, Gary, IN; and William Gray, Detroit, MI.; sister-in-law, Shirlene Rozier; three God daughters, Taneal Johnson, LaToya Bond, and Neshia Toins; Norma leaves many other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly including her life-long friend Eileen Johnson, The O’Dell sisters, and special friend Pops.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sona Carruth, father James Clark, Sr., step father Odie Carruth, brother James Clark, Jr., niece, Evelyn Faye Spates, nephews Gregory Clark and Darrick Carruth along with many other relatives.
