Olaska Williams

June 5, 1933 — November 29, 2014

On Saturday, November 29, 2014, the angels of Heaven descended upon the earth to carry Mr. Olaska Williams home to glory. He was born June 5, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Mr. and Mrs. Myles Williams.
Olaska attended schools in Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan. He relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in the early 1950s. He served with the United States Army as a chef and was honorably discharged in 1955. Olaska began his walk as a young Christian man when he became a member of Greater Williams Temple COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Herbert Williams. He later became a member of Center of Attraction Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Apostle James and Leona Glenn. At his time of passing, he was a member of the Potters Touch International Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Kareem Bowen. Olaska received an Associates Degree from Delta College. He was employed several years with the United States Postal Service as a Mail Carrier. Everyone knew him as the nice mailman. Olaska was also employed with B & K Tool Company now known as Kuka. After retiring for many years he decided to join the workforce again as a crossing guard for the Saginaw Public Schools until his health did not allow him to do so. He was a great man whose wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to celebrate his legacy two daughters, Marion Marie (Kevin) Williams Bradley and Sharrie (Norman Pops) Williams Crawford; two sons, Herbert A. Williams and Arnell Williams (Heather Wilson); three step-children, Charlotte Nash, Robert and Windell Haney; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three cousins, Irlean Smith, Dan Lee Williams and Robert Booker; many other relatives and friends including his very special friend, Ms. Laura Dolly Webb and a faithful friend, Nancy Linton.
Olaska was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Myles Williams, his wives, Marion Williams and Faye Williams, one daughter, Andrea Williams Jones and one stepson, James Haney.
