Oliver Orr (Lansing)

Mr. Oliver Lee Orr passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Age 71 years. He was born Wednesday, March 19, 1952, in Blytheville, Arkansas. The son of Dorothy Holbert and Percy Haynes.

Oliver moved from Blytheville, Arkansas to Lansing, Michigan with his mother and siblings in 1964. He attended Lansing School District and was affiliated with St. Matthews A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Reverend Rosa Lee Porter. Oliver was employed with General Motors for several years. He later relocated to Peoria, Illinois and began a new career with Conway Now Trucking Company. He then retired back to Lansing, Michigan and made his permanent residence. Oliver enjoyed going to classic car shows, gardening, and gatherings with family and friends.

He is survived by his 3 sons, Aaron Orr of Michigan, Christopher Orr of Michigan, and Jordan Early of Illinois; 5 daughters, Delana Orr of South Carolina, Tracy Orr of California, Marilyn Webb of Arizona, Sky Patrick of California, and Felicia Soto of Texas; 2 sisters, Betty Brisco (his caregiver) and Louise Holbert both of Lansing, Michigan; 1 brother, David Holbert of Lansing, Michigan; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Holbert and Percy Haynes; 3 brothers, Johnny, Edward, and Larry Holbert; and 1 sister, Barbara Ann.
