Mr. Omar Christopher Jones, “Skeeter”, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was born October 6, 1986 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Lilly and Larry Jones.
Omar accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. He is a member of True Vine Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Bridgeport High School and played a lot of sports, but football was his favorite. He was employed by Blue Diamond Foundry.
Omar was one that liked to fish, hunt, travel and spend time with his children. He participated in all of his children’s church activities, celebrated their birthdays in a big way and made sure they attended school on time or late.
His memory will forever be cherished by his mother who will forever miss her baby’s smile that lit up her heart, Lily Jones; children, Jacob, Khenadi and Ocean Jones; love of his life, Treniece Parker; sisters, Felicia Jones, Ciji Youngblood; aunts, Agrony Youngbloood-Thomas, Dargie Works, Berniece Crenshaw, Janice Grays; uncles, Willis, Jake and Jermaine Youngblood, Andrew and Ulyssee Welch; many cousins, other loved ones and friends, including special friend Ramone Lawrence.
Omar was preceded in death by his father, Larry Jones; brother, Erik Jones; grandparents, Willis and Willie Mae Youngblood, Ulyssee and Carrie Welch; nephew, Andre Jones; uncle, Malcolm Youngblood; aunt, Bobbie Payton.
