Omarr Jamil Phillips peacefully passed away at Comanche County Memorial Hospital on December 2, 2016 at the age of 37 years. He was born on August 22, 1979 in Saginaw, Michigan to Stanley B. Phillips and Albertina Hairston-Jones.
Omarr led a fulfilled life. He attended Mackinaw High School in Saginaw, Michigan where he graduated. He later spent five years in the United States Army with an honorable discharge in 2006. Following his discharge, Omarr went on to receive a Bachelor Degree in Psychology & Sociology from Cameron University of Lawton, Oklahoma and was working on his master's. Family, friends, studying and teaching the truth of the Bible and passing the knowledge on were very important to him. He enjoyed shopping, dressing, cracking jokes and loved fried chicken. Omarr was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, cousin, son, grandfather, and true friend who will be truly missed by all who loved and adored him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 12 years, Dionneta Phillips of Lawton, Oklahoma; three sons, and three daughters, Omarr Phillips Jr, Dezio Moses, DeIah Phillips, Deasia Phillips, and Deiona Phillips of Lawton, Oklahoma; Demontrion Phillips of Lansing, Michigan, his father, Bennie Jones, Saginaw, Michigan; fatherin-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Rosa Moses, Lawton, Oklahoma; three sisters, Sharri Phillips, Stanganita Phillips, Saginaw, Michigan, Caride Phillips, Augusta, Georgia; two brothers, Christon A. Phillips, Augusta, Georgia; Darrell Sherley, Lancaster, Texas; two brothers-in-law, Pink Scallion and Skyler Moses, Lawton, Oklahoma; grandparents Marva Barnett of Saginaw, Michigan and Mary Moses of Lawton, Oklahoma; special nieces and nephews, Tori, ShyAngel, ShaMia, Tyleasha, Javonte, Xavion, Eonce, and Braylon; many cousins special cousin, Corey Hairston, many aunts, and friends, all of Saginaw, Michigan, including special friends, Keith Williams, Bobby Warn, Uncle Buck, James Tyler, all of Lawton, Oklahoma, Chris Ray, Howard Reedy, Terrell Bank, Lloyd Smith, and Rob Scott of Saginaw, Michigan.
Omarr was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley B. Phillips and Albertina Hairston-Jones; one brother, Demontae Hairston, and his grandparents.
