Oral Brandon (Lansing)

Mr. Oral Brandon passed away August 28, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Age 77 years. He was born June 4, 1941 to Willis Brandon and Lola Rankin in Carrollton, Mississippi.

Oral attended McCarley High School in Carrollton, Mississippi. His family were farmers, so at an early age he had to work on the farm. Oral loved outdoor activities; fishing, gardening, taking walks, but most of all spending time with his family. In 1967, he relocated to Lansing, Michigan and was blessed to gain employment with General Motors. He held several positions for General Motors, including being a fork lift operator before retiring after 32 years of dedicated service.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, daughters, Brenda McNeil, Sonya Allen, Sophia Allen; son, Otis Allen; five step-daughters, Vallie Mae Allen, Johnnie Mae Hall, Jackie Allen, Mabel Allen, Lavida Allen; two step-sons, Shelton Allen, George Allen;; sisters, Marie Humphrey, Mildred Gleason, Shirley Bacchus; numerous grandchildren; and the mother of his children and everlasting friend, Mandie Brandon and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his; son, Oral Allen; daughter, Karen Allen; three grandchildren; parents; brothers, Willie Brandon, Eddie Brandon, Leonard Brandon, Willis Brandon, Jr., George Brandon, James Brandon; sister, Phyllis Brandon.
