Oscar Brodus

February 18, 1944 — February 26, 2012

Mr. Oscar Brodus Jr. Bubba, husband, father, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his residence with loving wife and care-taker by his side. Age 68 years. He was born February 18, 1944 in Winterhaven, Florida to Lillie Mae and Oscar Brodus Sr.
He served under the leadership of Bishop Roger L. Jones of Flint, Michigan and the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor of Saginaw, Michigan where he was a member of the Deacon Board, Trustee Board and was an overseer for the building of Victorious Believers Ministries at 624 South Outer Drive.
Oscar attended elementary and middle school in Carrollton and graduated from Saginaw High School where he played football. He was employed and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear. He loved fishing, telling childhood stories, cars, watching his grandson Devere play football and powerlifting. His greatest joy was traveling with his wife and grandchildren Dene and Devere. He was also able to see his grandson receive a ring for winning a Power boxing Championship.
His favorite story that he told: Saginaw Steering Gear was taking applications. His friend William Liddell said Oscar lets go get an application. He didnt have the gas money so William gave him 50 cents for gas. Williams didnt get hired but Oscar did. However, Will was blessed to gain employment at another General Motors facility. He thanked the Lord and William every day for being able to get an excellent job to provide for his family.
Oscar leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Margaret Sue Brodus; four
daughters, Dr. Dawn (Edmond) Brodus-Yougha, Dr. Melanie McCoy, both of Bowie, Maryland, Whitney Brodus and Gregory Willis, Dahl L. Enoch, Waterford, Michigan; one son, Anthony D. Enoch, Lansing, Michigan; his grandchildren, Dene and Devere Enoch, George Yougha, Mr. & Mrs. Telly Prince, Mr. & Mrs. Cecil Prince Troutman, Tempesst Prince, Latrece and DSean Owens; one sister, Susie Mathis, Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Elder Alvin Jones, John Bowen Jr., nephews Harry and John Brodus, Pastor Luciose Lewis Jr., Saul Marshall, William Liddell, Isabella Calhoun, Lois Scott, Mr. & Mrs. Curtis Riggins and Laura Webb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Oscar Brodus Sr., one sister, Margartha Paris, one son, Jimmy Haster-Enoch Jr. Butch, James Lee Brodus and Mr. Russell.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Rama Pulpuri, the staffs of St. Marys Medical Center, Select Specialty, MMR, Hemodialysis, Dr. Joseph Burch, Visiting Physicians and the Saginaw Fire Department, Mr. & Mrs. Perkins.
