O. D. Grays

Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, O.D. Grays, transitioned on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at My Michigan Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 80 years. He was born on February 29, 1944, in Yazoo, Mississippi, to Dave and Corine Grays.

O.D. finished high school in Mississippi and immediately entered the workforce. After moving to Michigan, he began working for Chevrolet Grey Iron Foundry (General Motors Corporation) in 1958 and retired in 1996 after 38 years of service. O.D. was also an esteemed, and active member of the Masons fraternity. He earned many accolades and recognition including earning the 33rd degree recognition, an accomplishment only bestowed upon members who have shown exceptional dedication and contributions to the fraternity. O.D. also served as Chapter President for several years.

He was a member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful steward and had a warm spirit. O.D. enjoyed spending time with family and sharing a cheerful smile or hug for those he held dear. Although he was a man of few words, his actions spoke to his powerful, calm, giving, and gentle nature.

O.D. will be remembered by his only son, Tony Brantley (Clork); granddaughter, Keyona Jackson (Andrew/Ayanna); grandson, A.J. Brantley; great-grandsons, Justin, Jaden, and Jrue Rogers; sister, Ida Mae Stuckey; sisters-in-law, Virginia Grays and Mary Grays; brother, Y.T. (Barbara) Grays; he also leaves a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will share and cherish every memory of the life he shared with us.

O.D. was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Corine Grays; sisters, Alean (Al) Junious and Maggie (James) Erwin; brothers, Curlee (Selma), McKinnely (Mary), Claud, (Louise), and Clarence Grays, and brother-in-law, Bill Stuckey.
