Othressa Daniel (Lansing)

Mrs. Othressa Eveal Daniel passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at McLaren Flint Trauma in Flint, Michigan, at the age of 90 years old. She was born Thursday, November 17, 1932, in Paris, Texas to her parents, Loubert C. Booker and Bessie P. Booker. Othressa was the last living member of her parents and siblings.

Othressa was a resident of Lansing, Michigan where she and her husband, Thomas raised their two daughters. She was employed with the Fisher Body Division of General Motors Corporation and retired from there after 32 years of service. Othressa was a long-time member of Friendship Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing Skipbo, Gin Rummy, and Dominos. She also enjoyed talking on the phone, having gatherings at the house and she loved her Pepsi. Othressa was a great lover of animals. She would feed every stray in the neighborhood.

Othressa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She enjoyed family trips, but what she enjoyed most of all was being home with family.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Bessie Daniel of Lansing, Michigan and Kathleen (Joseph) Maddrey of Grand Rapids, Michigan; three grandchildren, Tyree (Heather) Daniel, Lester Wheeler, Jr., and Stella Wheeler; 9 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, and Ean Daniel, Ma’Kaela, Kaiden, Braelyn, Chanel, Ezekiel and Aziel Wheeler; three godchildren, Saundra (Anthony) Fryer, Miles (Debra) Fitzpatrick, and Kenny (Cylinda) Hackman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Othressa was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Daniel; parents, Loubert and Bessie Booker; two brothers, James Gill and Rudolph Gill; parents-in-law, John and Mittie Daniel; five sisters-in-law, Josephine, Zelma, Sophie, Rachel, and Lillie Mae; six brothers-in-law, Ed, Joe, James, John, Matthew, and Frank.
