Pastor David Anderson

Pastor David C. Anderson, beloved husband, father and grandfather completed his life work Friday, August 20, 2010 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper after a lengthy illness. Age 59 years. Pastor Anderson was born December 6, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan to Elder James and Betsy Anderson.
He graduated from Arthur Hill Technical High School in 1960 and retired from Dow Chemical Company after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of USWA Local 12075.
Pastor Anderson faithfully served the congregation of Glorious Temple Church of God In Christ until his health failed him. The members of Glorious Temple united with Harris Temple Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Elder Johnnie Barefield. Elder Anderson served as Assistant Pastor at Harris Temple. He served as the President of the Y.P.W.W. and a member of the finance committee in the Peace District of North East Michigan Church of God In Christ, under the leadership of Superintendent James E. Walker.
Charlie was known as Coach at Civitan Recreation Center where he coached basketball for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 33 years, Darlene; four daughters, Rachelle Pittman, Gretchen, Faith, Monica Anderson; two sons, James (Toni) Clay, David Charles Jr.; 13 grandchildren; step-mother, Mother Geraldine Anderson; one brother, Otha (Lois) Myles; two sisters, JoAnn and Julia Anderson; his mother and father-in-law, Samson and Rosie Pittman; sister-in-law, Opal Anderson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and James; one sister, Sylvia; two grandchildren, Nia Cennea and Zachary Ruben Anderson.
