A Time to Be Born
Ernest W. Bothuel was born April 7, 1918 in Smithville, Georgia, the son of Charles and Lulu (Steward) Bothuel. He was the sixth of eleven children.
A Time to Love
He married Flora M. Thomas on December 25, 1937. To that union was born a son, Marvin Bothuel, and a daughter, Ernestine B. Walker; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Flora predeceased him on June 19, 1983.
He married Doris Nichols on December 25, 1985 and added to his family, daughters Debra (Vaughn) Murray, Dianne Gissendanner and Faye Presley; five grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A Time to Serve
Ernest was ordained as a minister in 1949 at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Saginaw, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor G.F. Moore. In 1950, he was called to the south side of Saginaw and founded Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served as the Pastor for over 63 years.
He was a founding member of the Saginaw Valley District Association and a current member of Measure of Faith Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Dallas.
He was employed at General Motors Corporation Malleable Iron, retiring in 1959.
A Time to Die
Pastor Bothuel departed this earthly home for his home in heaven on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the age of 100 years.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Flora; son, Marvin; parents, Charles and Lulu Bothuel; brothers and sisters.
