Patrice (Lansing) Monger

Ms. Patrice Deloris Rankins-Monger of Lansing, Michigan gained her Heavenly wings on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the age of 54 years. She was born March 6, 1961 in Detroit Michigan to Ruth and Ozell Rankins.
Affectionately known as Trice, she grew up on the east side of Detroit and was educated in the Detroit Public School System. She was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, under the Pastorate of Sterling L. Jones. In 1979, she graduated from Kettering High School. Upon completion of high school, she pursued a career in the field of physical therapy. In addition to work as a physical therapist, Trice was an Insurance Representative, Medical Biller and Coder, and a Cashier at A&P.
In 1982, Trice married James A. Monger I. To this union, she had three children. In 1987, Trice relocated to Lansing, Michigan. She rededicated her life to God. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, ministering to others, and reading her womens devotional Bible.
In addition to caring for her own children, she was the founder of All About Me, a mentoring program for young girls teaching them life skills.
Trice enjoyed gardening, shopping, watching movies and keeping her house clean. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family. Her entire life revolved around her children and grandchildren. Her love for family extended to everyone that she met. She was always happy, and greeted everyone with a smile. Her wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her fianc, Richard Woods; three beautiful children, Marie, Monique and James A. Monger II; five grandchildren, Jaedah, Emoni, Corey, Kaiyah and Terron; one god-daughter, Jessica and god-grandson, JeSiah; her Ride or Die BFF, Angela; two special cousins, Tan and Jackie; a special niece and nephew, Zenobia and Sebastian; Trice had a community of other special family and friends whos hearts she touched.
Patrice is preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Ozell Rankins, three brothers, James Wood, John Ted Rankins and Ronald Rankins, friend/sister, RubyNell Merchant.
The family wishes to express special thanks to everyone who offered condolences, kind words and prayers.
