Our dearly beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loving sister, Patricia Ann Jones, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday July 10, 2022. Age 64 years. She was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, on March 31, 1958, to Norva Lee Carpenter and O’dell Carpenter.
Patricia’s mother, Norva, made sure she accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She continued to make Christ known within her soul by believing and acknowledging Him as God. She was educated in both Rapides Parish school system (Alexandria, Louisiana), and in Saginaw, Michigan, graduating from Buena Vista High School, Class of 1975, and obtained her diploma a year early.
Patricia attended classes at Delta College, and later started working in the local plant system. Patricia had a smile and humbleness within her spirit that could win your heart over in minutes. She was a loving mother to her daughters, four granddaughters, and one great-grandbaby. Patricia enjoyed being in the presence of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandbaby, listening to Marvin Sapp (Never Would Have Made It), eating, riding, and loving on them. Patricia also had a deep unconditional bond with her mother who she talked to several times throughout the day and night, sharing intimate conservations about everything a mother and daughter could speak on.
Patricia Ann leaves to cherish loving memories her loving mother, Norva Lewis Ferguson; daughters, Norva Monique Carpenter, Yolanda Shabray Carpenter; grandchildren, Dante Marcus Swilley-Carpenter, Datrecia Ann Carpenter-Swilley, My‘Angel Richardson, and Arayvian M. Adkins; great-grandchildren, My’Shawn Swilley-Buford; siblings, Frances Nell Ervin, Dan (Chris) Lewis, and Phyllis Lewis-Miller, all of Houston, Texas; Hubert (Tiara) Carpenter, Alfonso Carpenter, Greg Carpenter, Latosha Carpenter, Odelia Carpenter, Janel Carpenter, Latosha Carpenter, all of Ohio; aunts, Luella Sherman-Johns, Martha (Kenny) Maise, and Gloria Williams; all of Saginaw, Michigan, Amy (Will) Pritchett, Montgomery, Alabama; uncles, Johnnie (Betty) Sewell, and Michael (Diane) Sewell, both of Saginaw, Michigan; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, dear and special friends.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father, O’dell Carpenter; maternal and paternal grandparents, Luella Butler, Johnnie Sewell Sr., Will and Emma Carpenter; sisters, Sarah Carpenter and Frances Matthews; and nephew, Byron David Montrel, Jr.
