Patricia Muse-Thomas (Lansing)

Ms. Patricia Ann Muse-Thomas "Pat" went home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 10, 2023. She was born on August 20, 1953, in Tuskegee, Alabama to parents, John Westley Pond and Alberta Cade.

Pat attended Marengo County Training School in Thomaston, Alabama before relocating to Lansing, Michigan in 1969, with her mother, step-father and siblings. She confessed Christ at an early age. In 1980, Pat became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Paul W. Garrett. She held roles as a member of the Usher Board and Food Committee.

Pat retired from Meijer after over 30 years of service. She held multiple jobs after retirement to keep herself busy. Pat enjoyed the outdoors; whether it be traveling, camping, fishing, working in her garden, or visiting with company on her back porch.

She was known for her tough love, but full heart, love, and passion for others.

Pat leaves to cherish her memory son, Edward Cade; grandchildren, Justin Cade of Lansing, Michigan, and Breannyn Black of Lansing, Michigan; siblings, Mary Witherspoon of Lansing, Michigan, and Mary Ruth Newman of Battle Creek, Michigan; brothers, Robert Walls, Tensley Walls, Jr., Fraizer Walls, and Anthony (Rosetta) Bryant; aunt, Bobby (John) Mitchell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; great-aunt, L.V. Nathan of Thomaston, Alabama; and many more relatives and friends, including partner, Kenneth Larman, and special nieces, Rochelle Walls and Doralee Witherspoon.

She is preceded in death by, her mother, Alberta Cade; father, John Westley Pond; step-father, Tensley Walls, Sr.; grandmother, Leslie Page; brothers, Earnest Cade and Tommy Walls; sisters, Shirley Walls and Donna Walls; and uncle, Fraizer Cade.
