Mrs. Patricia Anne (Fields) Poole was born on February 14, 1943, in Pineville, Louisiana, and graduated from St. James Catholic School the" Class of 1961." She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Calvary Baptist Church in Colfax, Louisiana. On Sunday, December 22, 2024, while engaging in Bible Study with her dearest lifelong friend, Evangelist Shirley Ray Marsh, Pat professed hope in Christ. On Saturday, February 15, 2025, she reaffirmed her belief by proclaiming her healing by partaking in Holy Communion under the auspice of Bishop Frederick L. Flowers, Sr.
After multiple conversations with her cousin Edwina in June of 1965, Pat boarded an Amtrak train and “decided to give California a try” by heading to Sacramento. She would soon become a “California State Certified Nurses Aide” and worked over 25 years with the Florin Skilled Nursing Center. In early August of 1965, "Pat" contemplated relocating back to Flint, Michigan, where she would have an opportunity to join her “father,” Hickman Holmes, Sr. and become an employee of General Motors, Determined to “stick it out” and after some friendly chatter, her friend, Jacqueline “Jackie” Williams, introduced her to Staff Sergeant Nathaniel Poole, a “single” man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, who would become the love of her life. Incidentally, three weeks later, on his 34th birthday during a trip to Reno, they would marry. According to Aunt Pat, "the rest is history!" She often shared their love story how “they met on a blind date and got married within 3 weeks” as an example that when you step out on “Faith,” something good will happen. She and “Poole” continued to remain residents of Sacramento where they enjoyed spending quality time with each other and over the years frequently traveling for gaming purposes to Reno, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and when visiting family in Michigan, they would visit Mt. Pleasant.
In 2019, Pat and Poole decided to relocate to Grand Blanc, Michigan. On Sunday, January 22, 2023, after 57 years of marriage the love of her life Nathaniel, transitioned to eternity. Navigating her new norm without “Poole,” Pat would often be found daily watching “her girls” on ABC’s “The View,” “The People’s Court” and “that cantankerous girl,” Judge Judy. In addition, she loved journaling, being a modern-day court stenographer as her nephew, Jeffery, called her. She also loved her word search puzzles and her scratch-off tickets.
On Monday Morning, February 24, 2025 at the age of 82, she transitioned from this life to an eternal life at her residence in Grand Blanc, Michigan, surrounded with family love and care.
