Patrick Williams

March 12, 1939 — April 17, 2023

Mr. Patrick Williams was born on March 12, 1939, in Georgetown, Guyana (South America) to Ruby Cordwell Williams and Oscar Williams. Pat passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, surrounded by his family. He was 84 years old when he transitioned from this earthly world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his dearly beloved wife, Gloria Williams, in Heaven for eternity.


Pat was the eighth of twelve children. He attended St. Cyril Anglican (Freeburg) Secondary School in Guyana, South America. While in Guyana, he met Gloria Trehane. He and Gloria were united in holy matrimony on November 23, 1963. After the two were married, Patrick immigrated to the United States to start a new life for himself and his family. His love, Gloria, joined him in 1969 and the young couple lived in New York for many years. To this union of 56 years of relentless love, one son and three daughters were born.


As a young man, Pat worked at Lettergraphic as an operator and also made furniture while living in Guyana. He obtained a student visa to become a mechanic in the United States in 1968. In 1973, Pat moved his family to Saginaw, Michigan. where he worked for Chesapeake Ohio Railroad and General Motors/Delphi-Saginaw Steering Systems. He retired in 2001 with 24 years of service.


Pat loved listening to music - Nate King Cole, Sam Cooke, and Frank Sinatra were some of his favorite artists. He also enjoyed watching old Western movies, shopping for suits, shoes, and hats, and socializing with family and friends.


Pat has been reunited with his wife, Gloria; mother, Ruby Cordwell Williams; father, Oscar Williams; only uncle, Samuel, and aunt, Bennie Mae Cordwell; brothers, Eric Walks, Stanley Walks, Rudolph Smith, Kenrick Williams, Rexford Williams, and Basil Cordwell; sisters, Lurline Brummell, Shirley Benn; special nephew, Osmond (Mun) Brummell; special cousin, Christopher Parris; special brother-in-law; Cecil McCullough; special aunt and uncle Hilda and Edgar Tute; great-grandsons, Naze’a and Cameron and other beloved family and friends.


Pat’s legacy continues to expand through his immediate children, Andrew (Demetria) Williams, Golyanna (Kelvin) Williams-Mack, Andrea Williams, Arlene Williams; grandchildren, Cheris, Candis, Takeshia, Andrew, Telvin, Jalen, and Julian; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Maleek, Mekiah, Amaya, Marquise, Nia, Josiah and Markael; siblings, Joyce Cordwell, Yvonne Chalmers; Ivor Henry; special family the Eastmans (Toronto, Canada), the Parris’s (New York), Brummell’s; special nephew, Ossie Brummell; special cousin, Sammy Cordwell; special friends, Goldburn Bruce and Odie Cork; other loving relatives and dear friend, Dorothy Jones.
