Paulette Fredricks

December 6, 1949 — May 24, 2022

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mrs. Paulette Fredricks went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 72 years.  Paulette Fredricks was born December 6, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Hayes and Ardell Brown.


Paulette was married to Homer Fredricks; to their union, six children were born.  She was baptized as a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she worshipped over several decades.  She also attended and volunteered at other churches.  Paulette was a Sunday school teacher, educating youth about the word of God. She also served with various ministries including the Mothers’ Board visiting hospitals to comfort and pray for church members, Christian Pantry Services making Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter food baskets for families, praise and worship dance coordinator, and a guest speaker for other church events.  Paulette worked many years at the Saginaw Country Club until her health failed. Her loving devotion to her family and friends will be treasured in this generation and the next.


Paulette leaves to cherish her memory four daughters,  Bette (Randolph) Barnes, Sara Fredricks, Monica Fredricks, and Tenesha Brown; two sons, Jeff (Yvette) Fredricks, and John Fredricks; five stepchildren, Katrina, Willie, Artie, R. D., and Duane; grandchildren, Pauline, Niekia, John, Jefferey, Jeremy, Jessica, Diamond, Mark Jr., DeMarkus, LaMark, LaMarcus, Melanie, Janiya, Glyn Jr., Ameona, Alysa, Amanda, Aaron, and Aubreona; great-grandchildren, Jalyssa Coleman, Mark Coleman III, Shelby Fredricks, Kamerson Allen, Randy Jackson Jr, Jovan Jackson, Rashad Fredricks, Jeremiah, Hezekiah, John III, Josiah, Angelo Brown, Ameir Brown, and Annabella Brown (soon to be here); one sister, Pearl Henderson; two nieces, Stephanie King, and Courtney King; two nephews, Lee King III, and Latrell King; many aunts, and uncles; two cousins, Kathryn Adams and Gertrude Young; many other relatives and friends including  the Allen and Millege families, childhood friend, Joyce Winters, with whom she shares grandchildren, Diane Holliman, and Pastor Rodrick A. (Irma) Smith.


Paulette was preceded in death by her former husband, Homer Fredricks; grandchild, Jessica Fredricks; parents, Hayes and Ardell Brown; great-grandchild, Aaliyah Brown; three nieces, Leigh Andrea King, Sharleea King, and Anessa Hendricks.


The family would like to express special thanks to any loved one not mentioned; know that you were dearly loved in the heart of Paulette Fredricks.


Paulette Fredricks met her birth parents, Elijah and Lois Ann Brodnex, later in life.


In addition to those previously mentioned, Paulette is survived by five sisters, Shirley, Carol, Sandra, Gertrude, and Beverly (Trevor); three brothers, Elijah Jr. (Karen), Glenn (Juanita), Lonzie (Cynthia); eleven nieces, Krystal, Shavonya, Danyell, Talitha, Cynthia, Tamela, Sonya, Vita, Shonda, Dominique, and Ashley; twelve nephews, Demetrice, Ronnie, Donald Lavell, Apollo, Trevor, Talez, David, Derrick, Anthony, Jerry, Adrian, and Christopher; many aunts and uncles.


Paulette was preceded in death by her birth parents, Elijah and Lois Ann Brodnex; two brothers, Frederick and Donald; and niece, Donna Kay.
