Mrs. Peggy Ann Pickott passed away Monday, September 19, 2022, at her residence in Dansville, Michigan at the age of 87 years old. She was born in Bond, Kentucky on May 27, 1935, the daughter of Min and Glenna Turner.
Peggy was a feisty redhead from the South who loved fried green tomatoes and made the best biscuits and gravy for her family. She adored her husband, six children, 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and her pets, Kiki and Bells. Peggy did not go a day without watching Young and the Restless or her favorite TV gameshows. She loved the casino, slot machines, pull-tabs, scratch-offs, bingo, and most of all, Tonk. She told all kinds of stories like that one time they were stranded in the desert and repaired the Volkswagen using her sister’s pantyhose. Or that time she swore Conway Twitty looked from the stage, right into her eyes, and said, “hello darlin’”. Peggy Pickott was the strongest woman we’ve ever known, and her strength is in all of us.
She leaves to cherish her memory are her four children, Tom (Phyllis) Pickott, Tim (Carol) Pickott, Lisa (Michael) Pickott-Serafini, and John (Diane) Pickott; 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brother, Bill Turner; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Pickott; two sons, David Pickott and Audie Pickott; parents; sister, Francis Lindsey; and 3 brothers, Ray Turner, Audley Turner, and Sonny Turner.
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand
That an angel came and called my name and took me by my hand
The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above
And that I’d have to leave behind all that I dearly love
But when I walked through heaven’s gates I felt so much at home
For God looked down, smiled at me, and told me welcome home
So when tomorrow starts without me don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart
