Phillip M. Brown "Phil"

Mr. Phillip Manuel Brown "Phil" passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the age of 71 years. He was born June 5, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Reverend Ernest and Ethel Brown. Phillip made a peaceful transition at Foundation Park Care Center in Toledo, Ohio. 

Phillip graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1972. He was employed at General Motors and is a Veteran of the United States Army. While residing in Saginaw, Phillip was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his father, Pastor Ernest L. Brown. He sang lead on his favorite song, "I Stood on the Banks of Jordan." Phillip loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Phillip's memory will be forever cherished by his son, Jasper (Emma) Currington; grandchildren: Jashae, Jalice, Ejza, Javonte, Exavian, and Faith; sisters: Cosetta Henley, Amanda (Wade) Cashaw, Jacqueline (James) Thomas; brother-in-law, Will Feagin; one aunt, Ethel Mae Drain; one uncle, Pastor Emeritus Arthur (Annie) Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Pastor Emeritus Ernest L. Brown, and mother, Ethel Brown; sister, Vivian Feagin, and brothers, Olee Brown and Timothy Brown.

The family would like to thank the Staff at  Foundation Park Care Center and Walker Funeral Home in Toledo, Ohio; our cousin, Mary McDonald, extended family and friends, and Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
