Our beloved Phyllis Ann Jackson transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, August 16, 2014, but she lives on in Christ. She was born on July 3, 1943 in Paducah, Kentucky to Barnett and Katie Woods.
Phyllis relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in the summer of 1955. She married Jimmie O. Jackson, Jr. in 1962. They were married 34 years. She lived a remarkable life. She was a member of the South 17th Church of Christ under the leadership of Pastor Cedric Townsel. She dearly loved her children, grand-children and foster children. Many were touched by her life and the love that she shared. Phyllis loved TNBA bowling and extensive traveling. She was an assistant coach for the Buena Vista and Saginaw High schools wrestling teams. Phyllis operated the concession booth at Saginaw High School sports events. She was an event coordinator for several events such as weddings, graduation gatherings etc. She was very unique in creating her one-of-a-kind floral arrangements. Additionally and most importantly, she was a Foster Care Parent for more than 20 years, even until death.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory one son, Rodney Kelley; two daughters, Rhonda (Kenneth) Green and Regina (Juan) Hilburn; one daughter-in-law, Helen Jackson; grandchildren, Kenneth (Trina) Jr, Keyandra and Keyondre Green, Randall Jr., Rolando, Reytrell and Reana Jackson, Ja'Shawn, Jazmine and Jala Hilburn and Charles Ledbetter; great-grandchildren, Azarie Jazlyn, Kenneth III, Key'Arra and Kennedy Kayla; three sisters and one brother, Bettie Vargas, Early Railey, William Woods and Tracy Woods; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends including her special friends, Arlene Patton, Billy Erwin, Diana Simpson, Dorothy Whiting and Ethlene Haley.
She was preceeded in death by her son, Randall Jackson Sr.; father, Barnett Woods, mother, Katie Woods and one sister, Vera Woods-Garrett.
