Poince Hicks

Ms. Poince Demetrice Dee Dee Hicks passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at her residence in Highland Park, Michigan. Age 64 years. She was born January 26, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois to Austin D. Hicks and Carrie Lee Burns Hicks.
Poince was a member of the South 17th Street Church of Christ in Saginaw, Michigan and was baptized by Minister Cedric Townsel. She attended Delta College in Saginaw, Michigan, and was a volunteer for former 95th District State Representative, Mike Hanley. Poince enjoyed helping people, traveling, shopping, music and watching the ID Channel. Most of all, she loved attending the Church of Christ.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Tiffany L. Hicks of Saginaw, Michigan and Petrina Costilus Pierre of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, LeTysha (Earnest) Flowers of Summerville, Georgia, LeShai Hicks and John Robinson of Saginaw, Michigan, Derrick Gordon of Seattle, Washington and Jasmine Gordon of Atlanta, Georgia; great- grandchildren, Xaviar TreVon Gray, Terrance Michael Robinson and Alicia Chanel Flowers; stepmother, Lucille Hicks; one sister, Aquila (Arthur Lee) Flinnon of Saginaw, Michigan; stepsister, Janice Merriweather; stepbrothers, Bobby, Benny, Calvin, David and Curtis Harrell; one niece, Vernidia Hicks of Saginaw, Michigan; two great nephews, Tristan Hicks and DeJuan Nutt of Saginaw, Michigan. Two uncles Benjamin and David Burns of South Bend, Indiana; several cousins including a special cousin, Betty Johnson of Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including Zorita Hicks who was like a mother; special friends, Early Woods, Yvonne Riggins, and Moline Banks of Saginaw, Michigan, Lula of Chicago, Illinois and Eva of Toledo, Ohio. Poince will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Poince was preceded in death by her mother and father, Austin D. Hicks and Carrie Lee Burns Hicks and one brother, Murray Hicks. Also her paternal and maternal grandparents.
The family would like to express special thanks to Evelyn Williams, Charles Perkins and Annie Walsh all of Detroit, Michigan, and Betty Johnson.
