Princess Irene Mannie

June 25, 1946 — September 26, 2018

Mrs. Princess Irene Mannie was born June 25, 1946 in Yazoo City, Mississippi to Semo and Julia Childress. Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend has gained her wings and is now resting peacefully in the arms of her Lord.

Princess loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ into her life at a young age. She was a loving housewife who made a home for her children full of love and comfort. She enjoyed listening to rhythm and blues, shopping, and watching westerns. Going to the casino was her pastime and she loved watching game shows, especially Family Feud. She was a real fashionista that never followed trends but set them.

The Queen of her household, she kept everyone in line. She was free-spirited, sassy and funny. She was one of a kind and God definitely broke the mold after he created Princess. She was the foundation of her family and her presence will truly be missed.

On Saturday, September 26, 2018, Princess was reunited with the love of her life, husband Charlie Mannie; parents, Semo and Julia Childress; son, Robert Travis; brothers, Semo Jr. and Bobby Childress; grandparents, Oliver and Lillie Coleman.
