Q. T. "Lewis" Rogers (Lansing)

March 21, 1942 — October 26, 2020

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
”2 Timothy 4:7-8"

Mr. Q. T. Lewis Rogers passed away Monday, October 26, 2020, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 78 years. He was born March 21, 1942, in Wardell, Missouri to Nota B. and Fred Rogers, Sr.

He was baptized in the name of the Lord at a young age. Mr. Rogers was one of the founding members of God’s Dynamic Ministries Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of his daughter, Shepherdess Kendra Milton. He was a faithful member who worked tirelessly until his illness. Mr. Rogers was known for sharing profound words of wisdom that helped everyone he came in contact with. He would always say that you should never come to God’s house without having something to give. Mr. Rogers rededicated his life to the Lord before his transition, so we have no doubt where he is resting.

Mr. Rogers retired from Lansing Drop Forge and was a family man. People knew him as a jokester; there was never a dull moment when he was around. He always kept a smile on his face and made sure everyone around him was in good spirits. No matter how much pain he endured, he never wanted the family to shed tears. He loved all his family and friends unconditionally. Lewis loved playing cards, but if you sat down at the table with him, you had better make sure you knew how to play! He had a joyful personality and his grandchildren absolutely loved to be around him. Lewis could not wait for the holidays to come around, because he made sure that somebody cooked sweet potatoes as everyone knew that was his favorite dish. His presence will be sorely missed.

Mr. Rogers leaves many loved ones to cherish his memories his wife Susie Rogers; children, Tony Brown, of Tucson, Arizona, Kelly Rogers, Lavida Allen, Celisa Rogers, and Shepherdess Kendra Milton, all of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Martha Rogers, MaLinda Milton, Quincey Thomas, Daymeia House, Malique Rogers, Rosa Evans, Taylor Sherrer, DarShay Sherrer, LaTyra Allen, MarQuan Allen, all of Lansing, Michigan. Kenya (TyQuan) Hammock, of Iowa, Illinois, Ebony Brown, and Aquaria Sherfield, of Tucson, Arizona; sister, Lillie Murray of Tucson, Arizona; special uncle Henry Hursey and aunt Julia Verser, both of Lansing, Michigan; many other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Mr. Q. T. Lewis Rogers was preceded in death by parents, Fred Rogers, Sr., Nota B., and Lawrence Brown; son, Charles Brown; grandsons Troy Quincy Macklin, Tony Brown, Jr., Edward Brown and Eric Brown; and brother, Fred Rogers, Jr.
