Queen Esther Weston

Queen Esther Weston passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the age of 65 years. She was born April 23, 1949 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to Jake Collins Sr. and Mae Bell (Mitchell) Collins.
Queens family relocated to Chicago, Illinois when she was 5 years old. She joined George Griffin in holy matrimony and from this union eight lovely children were born. Queen moved to Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 30 years where she met and married the late Henry Weston. Queen loved to read and watch movies. She was a collector of her favorite books, movies and music. Her favorite actors to name a few were, Chris Hemworth, Brad Pitt and Barbara Streisand. Queen loved having family gatherings and cooking for others as well as others cooking for her. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Her presence will be truly missed.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Nichelle DeParas of Saginaw, Michigan; five sons, Edward Collins, Eric (Yolanda) Griffin, Lawrence (Cecelia) Griffin all of Saginaw, Michigan, Steve Collins of San Diego, California and George Griffin Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, Oscar (Sarah), Angelique and Andres DeParas, DeShawn Thomas, Terra Griffin, Candice, Michelle, Nijal and Stevie Collins, Shanice Marlow, Keaton Basner, Elana, Elijah and Eric Griffin Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Francis Benton III, Briony DeParas, Allyanna Berry, Kenny Lewis Jr., Mi'Tasia Hale and Taylor Patton; one brother, Larry (Annie) Collins of Richton Park, Illinois; a very special daughter/best friend, Pamela Turner; a very good friend, Linda Bowes;several nieces and nephews including her special nieces, Yolanda McCoy and Laronda Collins and her special nephew, Lamont Collins; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Julie Humes, Tracy Lawrence and Dannielle Monroe.
Queen was preceded in death by two children, Elana and Anthony Griffin, parents, Mae Bell and Jake Collins Sr., grandparents, Susie and John Hill, two sisters, Dorlisa Coleman and Mona Lisa Thrope, three brothers, Lonnie, Jake and Eugene Collins, two grandchildren, Lawrence Griffin Jr. and DVaryohn McKinney and a special friend, Nanine Robelin.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Toby Long of Health Delivery Roosevelt Ruffin Center, A & D Healthcare, A & D Hospice, Saginaw Senior Care, Saginaw Transit Regional Authority (STARS), Fresenius Dialysis and Dan of Perfect Fit.
