Ray Bickham

July 18, 1942 — October 16, 2018

Deacon Ray Allen Bickham was born July 18, 1942 in Hammond, Louisiana to Henry and Priscilla Bickham. He went home to rest safely in the Master’s arms on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Age 76 years.

Deacon Bickahm was a long-term resident of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a dedicated member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained a Deacon. He loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church and encouraged his family to follow his example.

Deacon Bickham worked for General Motors Corporation Grey Iron Foundry until he retired. He was a member of UAW Local 467 during his employment. In his spare time, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, who lovingly called him “Big Daddy.” He was a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, a protective brother and a loyal friend. His presence will be missed but his memory will last forever.

Deacon Bickham was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Bickahm; parents, Henry and Priscilla Bickham; sisters, Ella and Doretha; brothers, Berthrel, Bill, Dave, Boona and Cleveland.

He leaves to cherish precious memories two daughters, Bridget Ray, Tracy (John) Romero; grandchildren, Deonte (Monique) Bickham, Quiesha Romero (Jalian), Aysia Romero; great-grandchildren, DaMareanna, Deairea, DaTiya, Kaiden, Kamiyah; two sisters, Dorothy Wells, Bobbie Robinson; sister-in-law, Bobbie Harry; brother-in-law, Willie Harry; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
