Ray Johnson (Lansing)

Mr. Ray Johnson passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 41 years. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Ray Anthony Peterson and Polly Ann Johnson on Sunday, September 5, 1982.

Ray was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan attending school in the Lansing School District at Pattengill Middle School, Eastern High School, and completing his education at West Junior High School. Growing up, Ray ran track for many years, played football, and basketball. He had a passion for music. He loved to sing and listen to his Blues Music. Ray also loved writing music and rapping to different types of music. His smile lit up the room, he loved cracking jokes, and making other people laugh. Ray was especially loved by his family, and he loved them just as much. He will truly be missed.

Ray leaves to cherish his memory 2 sons, Braylon Johnson and Jayden Trevino; parents, Ray Anthony (Jackie) Peterson and Polly Ann Johnson; grandparents, William (Mary) Porter; 4 sisters, Roshanda Johnson, Monique Woods (Darnell) Gardner, Brenna Peterson and Tashenna Peterson; nephew, Chandler Kyree Ford; 4 aunts, Linda Johnson, Veronica Peterson, Sandra Porter, and Debbie Porter; 4 uncles, Arthur Johnson, Leroy Johnson, DeWayne (Michelle) Porter, and Reggie Peterson; many special cousins, other relatives and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clote Porter, Annie Pearl, and Ray Austin Peterson; aunt, Yolanda Peterson; and uncle, Richie Peterson.
