Mr. Ray Allen Morrow passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 63 years. He was born September 22, 1956 to Sam B and Maggie Mae Morrow in Chicago, Illinois; the oldest of six siblings.
Ray attended John Marshall High School in Chicago, Illinois. At an early age, he confessed a hope in Christ while attending Divine Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he served singing in various choirs. Ray worked numerous jobs in Chicago as a young man. He moved to Muskegon, Michigan in 1990 to assist his elderly father until his death. Ray later relocated to Lansing, Michigan, where he pursued his passion in carpentry. He had the biggest smile and a heartfelt laugh. Ray loved his hats and loved to dress. He was a great Old-School stepper. Ray loved his family especially his daughter Shonee, grandchildren, Javari and Imanii, and his siblings. He would often be found on the grill at family gatherings; however, he was best known for his Ice-Box Lemon Pie.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Shonee Marie Funches; grandchildren, Javari and Imanii; siblings, Pamela (Thomas) Hudson, Chicago, Illinois, Douglas (Victoria) Morrow, Chicago, Illinois, Karey (Deborah) Morrow, Sr., Muskegon Heights, Michigan, Sylvia (Perry) Morrow, Chicago, Illinois; aunts, Louella Wade, Dortha Smith and Irene Webster all of Chicago, Illinois; uncle, Charlie Holt, Chicago, Illinois; 6 nieces, 8 nephews, 15 great-nieces, 13 great-nephews, many other cousins, relatives and friends including special friend, Iris Henry. Ray was loved by many and will deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Maggie Morrow; and younger brother, Stanley J. Morrow.
