The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Psalm 23:1-3
Raymond Wilson passed away at his home on Thursday morning, August 9, 2017 Age 70 years.
Raymond was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 23, 1947 to Joe and Flora Wilson who preceded him in death. His mother, Flora, departed this life when he was a child, and his mother’s sister, Aunt Jettie, continued to raise him. Raymond was a beloved husband, compassionate dad, supportive brother, caring uncle, wonderful brother-in-law, dear nephew, loving cousin and a good friend.
Raymond was a proud graduate of Saginaw Public Schools District and he enjoyed reading action novels. He loved to go fishing, listen to music, traveling far and near; and most of all, he appreciated all the times he shared with his family. Raymond especially enjoyed their Kelley family reunion celebrations, when everyone came together to have a good time, with laughter, joking, dancing, games and eating. He was an advocate of working; he understood the importance of a job at a very early age. Raymond worked for General Motors for eighteen years. He was a handsome man who met no strangers during his journey in life. He was blessed with two adorable daughters and one delightful son.
He continued his voyage in life and met his wife, Jeanette; they lived several years in Saginaw and decided to move to Grand Rapids, Michigan. He enjoyed going to church and praising the Lord, remembering the scripture Psalm 150, “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
Raymond leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jeanette Wilson; two daughters, Flora Ann Harden and Desiree Sanders, both of Saginaw, Michigan; two sisters, Barbara Abraham, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Ruby Garth, Saginaw, Michigan; a special niece, Katonya Abraham, Grand Rapids, Michigan; two special nephews, Bobby Abraham and Vincent Abraham and his fiancée, Dia Jones, all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Esther Freeman, Grand Rapids, Michigan; one uncle, Sammy Kelley, Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Flora Kelley Wilson and Joe Wilson; one son, Damion; one brother, Buck Wilson; his grandparents, Buck and Martha Kelley. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
