Regina Stanton

March 16, 1958 — May 7, 2023

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Regina Stanton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at home surrounded by family. Jesus saw she was getting tired and stretched forth his hand and said, “My child, come home.” Regina was born on March 16, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan.

Regina grew up in Panola, Alabama, where she attended school. In 1975 she moved to Saginaw, Michigan. Regina accepted Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of St Luke CME Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Aaron McFadden; currently, Pastor Joyce Braddock-Redfearn. She worked many years at Covenant Hospital where she retired and formed many positive special relationships.

Regina was a very friendly, nurturing, and loving person who loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sitting on her porch out in the sun, and doing small arts and crafts.

Regina leaves to cherish loving memories her daughter, Leatrice (Raphell) Cooper; granddaughter, Jacharri Leavell (Harold Turner); bonus grandchildren, Canada and Raphell Cooper; great-grandchildren, Zeyli Turner, and Nolen Turner; bonus great-grandchild, Kensli Calhoun; sister, Beverly Hardison; brother, Herman Stanton; nephew, Derrick Jackson; Aunt Ann (Sam) Jones, Uncle, Odell Stanton, Jr.; special aunt, Lizzie Quarles; special cousin, Edna Stanton-Cameron; best friends, Theresa Goodman, Geneva Moore, Emma Edwards, and Pamela Weems.

Regina was preceded in death by her loving mother, Bertha Lee Hardison; grandfather, Odell Stanton Sr.; grandmother, Mary Stanton; great-grandmother, Laura Turner Hardison, and cousin, Donna Quarles.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Staff at Covenant HealthCare Harrison 7th floor and 2-Main; the following physicians and their Staff: Dr. Palya, Dr. Castillo, Dr. Solh, and Dr. Jensen; also the Visiting Nurses Association of Saginaw (Hospice).
