Reginal L. Griffin "Reggie"

Mr. Reginal Lamont Griffin, was called home to be with the Lord on August 4, 2017. He was born February 13, 1988 to Vanessa (Griffin) Rogers in Bay City, Michigan.

Reginal accepted Christ at the age of 9 years old under the leadership of Pastor Seth Doyle at the Second Baptist Church. Reggie was employed at TGI-Friday’s in Saginaw, Michigan. Reggie loved to cook, and watch movies in his spare time. Reggie spent a lot of time being close to his friends whether on swimming or camping trips. He was a Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. During his high school years he was a member of the schools marching band where he played the drums. Reggie was voted most popular and also was a member of the Homecoming King’s Court, and during his graduation year in 2006, Reggie was the Homecoming King for Bay City Central High School. Reggie was not afraid to tell someone he loved them he would give whatever he could to a person in need. Reggie was known by his cousins as a great gift giver, especially at Christmas time.

Reginal Lamont Griffin leaves to treasure his memories his mother, the love of his life, Vanessa (Jerome) Rogers; father, Brian Rogers; step-father, Charles P. (Jessica) Smithers who guided Reggie as his own son; brothers, Charles M. Griffin, Odane Rogers, Odarie Rogers, Richland Smithers, Charlie P. Smithers and Corey (Ivie) Lopez; two sisters, Veronica and Destiny Smithers; grandmother, Mary L. Griffin whom he loved as his own mother; great-granddaddy, Charlie Bassette; and namesake, Laymon Wilkins; grandfather, George Smithers; special aunts, Karen Lowery and Versia (Dennis) Baker, Shabrina Hobson, Tasha (Terri) Hobson, Michele Smithers and Nichole (Antonio) Brooks; uncles, Christopher (Hiroko) Griffin and Kenneth Smithers; godparents, Sherunda Berry and Paul Jenkins; eleven special first cousins and five special great- aunties and uncle.

Reggie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cary Griffin; grandmothers, Janice Rogers and Veronica Smithers; two uncles, Martin Lowery and Joseph Rogers.
