Reta Altha Roby, a friend to all that knew her…
Reta Altha Roby, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. She was born in Greenville, Mississippi January 18, 1950 to Georgia Calhoun Henry and Louis Ceaser, Jr.
Reta graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class Of 1968” and worked as a clerk at Salvation Army of Flint, Michigan, doing what she loved to do, helping people in need. She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Christ Community Church under the leadership of Rev. William Aldridge, Sr. She was a member at Kingdom of Heaven Ministries where Dr. Lonnie W. Brown serves as Pastor.
Reta was very family oriented. She loved her family, doted on her children and lived for her grandchildren. She was a mother, lovingly called "Granny", to all in her community. She didn't meet strangers and all who she came in contact with, young and old, she ministered to them about the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord, whether she was at church, bingo, casino, grocery store, or walking the streets of her community. She had to share how real and good God is. She lived to brag on Jesus. Reta Roby "Ms. Feisty" was a woman who spoke her mind about everything and you never had to wonder where she stood, especially on the Word of God. Her memory will be cherished by her family and all whose lives she touched.
Reta was preceded in death by her ex-husband, John C Roby; son, Allen Henry; mother, Georgia Calhoun-Henry; grandparents, Norvel R. and Georgia Calhoun, Louis, Sr. and LouEthel Ceaser; brothers, Larry Caesar, Derek Ceaser; sisters, Joyce Cage, Patricia Hickman, Faye Byrd, Daphne bestie, Burris “Doll" Ghoston.
