Reverend Annie Anderson

February 18, 1937 — July 29, 2020

Our beloved Queen, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Sister, and Friend departed this earthly life at home on Wednesday July 29, 2020 at 5:45 am, at the blessed age of 83 years old. She was born February 18th, 1937 in Uniontown (Perry County), Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Tommie Spencer and Bertha Ree Perkins-Young (Craig Young Sr.). She was raised by her grandparents, Nathaniel Perkins and Mary Blevins- Perkins along with her brother Ernest David Perkins and cousin/brother Eddie Lee Perkins.

Our Queen, Rev. Annie Mae Anderson accepted Christ at an early age of 14 years old. She studied under the leadership of Pastor J&F Jingle at Little Canaan Baptist Church in her hometown. She was known by many churches in her community such as Prince of Peace, Galilee Baptist, New Life Baptist, Shiloh Baptist, Spiritual Israel, Christ Kingdom and many more. She was a member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church in Saginaw, Michigan.

Our Queen worked hard as a child in the South picking tobacco and cotton in the fields. During her adult years she worked as a Head Cook in restaurants, Daycare School Bus Driver, General Motors Corporation, and a Caregiver helping care for those who were unable to care for themselves. Our Queen loved her children, grandchildren, and family. She would do everything in her power to help those in need such as cleaning their home, performing other household duties, and providing transportation to others. Our Queen loved to cook and she made sure to provide daily cooked meals for her children as they returned home from school. After church on Sunday’s she would prepare a Soul Food feast and invite everyone over to eat and fellowship. Not only did she feed your body but she would feed your soul through wisdom and laughter.

Our Queen was a true definition of a Servant of the Lord by helping anyone she could regardless if she knew them or not. Her motto was “If you can’t do anything else, the least you can do is feed someone.” Our Queen loved church and her gospel music. When the sprit hit her you would know by the way she danced and shouted giving all praises to her Lord and Savior. She also loved her fashion from her head to her feet. When she walked into a room her style was breath taking from her hats, suits, and African attires. She was very noticeable and captured everyone’s attention with her loving personality. Our Queen loved to celebrate her birthday February 18th and it was a national holiday for our family. She would have big dinners and invite everyone she knew and didn’t know. She was a strong believer in family. She made sure we had family reunions so everyone could get together to fellowship and know each other with love and peace. Our Queen will truly be missed by her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.
