Reverend James Arthur Stuckey, Jr., age 66 years, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper, with his loving wife, Debra Stuckey, and his family at his side. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late James Stuckey, Sr., and the late Ona (Reid) Stuckey, on April 13, 1956.
James was a graduate of Carrollton High School, Class of 1974. He was employed at Sears beginning in 12th grade, retiring in 2018 after 44 years of service. Reverend Stuckey was an associate minister and devoted member of Rosehill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Murry Culberson. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Debra (Banks) Stuckey; three children, Pastor James A. (Kelli) Stuckey, III, Jackson, Mississippi, Jonathan D. Stuckey, and Tiffany M. (Delvin) Washington, Saginaw, Michigan; six grandchildren, Ja’Vontius (Savanna), Jah’Wanza, Je’Lisha, Jer’Myiah, and Jonathan Stuckey, and Darius Allen-Green; two godchildren, Alexandria Carter, and Ieisha Sims; three sisters, Prenella (Melvin) Nathan, Patricia Hill, Dallas, Texas, Priscilla (Nathaniel) Cormier; one brother, Jayson (Shaylett) Stuckey, Belleville, Michigan; aunt, Joyce Reid; sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Nelums, Marilyn (Wesley) Strickland, Christine Wright, and Buelah Stuckey; brothers-in-law, Robert (Michelle) Jeffries, Lamarr Jeffries, and Grant (Robin) Wright; mother-in-law, Lucille Wright, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including a special cousin, Donald R. Stuckey, Sr.; and special friends, J.J. Akins, and the Sims Family.
Reverend James Stuckey was preceded in death by his parents, James Stuckey, Sr. and Ona Reid Stuckey, and two brothers, Joseph Stuckey and Jonathan Stuckey.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the 7th floor ICU Surgical Unit at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper.
