Ricardo Dabney, Sr. (Lansing)

Ricardo “Rick” Andre Dabney, Sr. passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at his residence in Lansing, Michigan. Age 63 years. He was born August 15, 1956 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Rick was the first and only child of Lola Mae Dabney.

Rick was a lifelong resident of Lansing, Michigan. He attended J. W. Sexton High School. Rick loved his family: his mom, children and grandchildren. His best friend was his Mom, Lola. He also loved fishing and cooking; was known as the “King of the Grill”, anyone who knew Rick loved his BBQ, especially his ribs. He also loved watching and attending sporting event, he was a lifelong Detroit sports fan for the Lions and Pistons.

Rick leaves to cherish his memory his three children, son, Ricardo (Nikayla) Dabney, Jr. and daughter, Rickesha Dabney both of Lansing, Michigan, son, Christopher Dabney of DeSoto, Texas; five grandchildren, Julien Bonilla, Ceryiah Dabney, Jayla Bonilla, Jayce Bonilla and Caydence Dabney all of Lansing, Michigan; aunt, Juanita Dabney-Parker of Detroit, Michigan; special cousin, Suzette Smith of Detroit, Michigan; many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Mae Dabney and maternal grandparents, Nathaniel and Alice Miller Dabney.
