Richard Baker of Saginaw, MI was born on November 15, 1922 in Union Springs, Al to Bessie (Stoeball) Lampley and William Baker. He passed away on October 15, 2009 at Tendercare Saginaw. Age 86 years.
Richard came to Saginaw, MI in the mid 50s. He was employed with General Motors retiring after 27 years of service. He liked playing cards, traveling and listening to music.
He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Linda (Ronald) Gibbs and Cheryl A. Pickett both of Saginaw, MI; two sons, McConnie Baker of S. Dakota and Frank (Mary) Pickett of Saginaw, MI; step-children, Dorothy M. Baskin and Mattie M. Pritchett both of Union Springs, AL; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Kate Works, Ola Bell (Robert) Jackson and Ethel Mae Borders; brother, Freddie Lee (Betty) Lampley; two sisters-in-law Betty Lampley and Kate Lampley; fifteen nieces; fifteen nephews; a host of other relatives and friends including special nephews, John, Roy and Houston Hicks, special nieces, Shirley (Michael) Thomas and Bessie Works; and the mother of his children, Mamie Pickett.
Richard was predeceased by his mother Bessie (Stoeball) Lampley; father, William Baker; daughter, Gloria J. Baker; two sisters, Bessie L. Jones and Evergreen Johnson; three brothers, Robert Lampley, Otis Lampley and Johnny Lampley; sister-in-law, Joy Lampley,; and brother-in-law, Charlie Works.
