Richard Eugene Dorsey Sr.

Richard Eugene Dorsey, Sr. passed away Monday, October 8, 2012. Age 70 years. He was born June 13, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Wesley Dorsey.
Richard was a dedicated husband, father and friend. He married Thomasina Dailey on October 28, 1963; she survives him. He was a long standing member of St. Luke C.M.E. Church and was the President of the Usher Board. Richard retired from Central Foundry Malleable Iron in 1992 and was active in the Buena Vista and Saginaw Communities. Always on the go, Richard loved to travel, play racquetball and golf. Richard won numerous sports awards over the years, but was most proud of his hole-in-one, which he accomplished by using a 9 iron to ace the 133-yard fourth hole at Green Acres Golf Course. Richard will be most remembered for his love for family and his joy for life.
Surviving besides his wife, Thomasina are two daughters, Richelle Renee (David) Dorsey-Crawford, Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie Ann Dorsey, Wilmington, Delaware; two grandchildren, Mariana Richelle Dorsey, Cininnati, Ohio, Jermain Dakquon Crawford, Sandusky, Ohio; one great-grandson, Darrion Jermain Crawford, Elyria, Ohio; two sisters, Patricia K. (Archie) Tullos, Margaret Dorsey, both of Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers, Michael Dorsey, Biloxi, Mississippi, James (Rosa) Dorsey, Grand Rapids, Michigan; one sister-in-law, Janice Dorsey, Saginaw, Michigan; brothers-in-law, Rodney (Roxine) Dailey, Cincinnati, Ohio, Rick (Alycia) Dailey, Atlanta, Georgia; goddaughters, Ebony McNair, Kecia Matthews-Williams; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Eugene Dorsey, Jr.; mother, Wesley Dorsey; father, John Dorsey; brothers, Jeffrey, Thomas and John Dorsey.
