Mr. Robert Claud Jones (Bobby, Buddy), father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother finished his course and went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Age 65 years. He was born August 27, 1944 in Columbus, Georgia to Joe and Mary T. Jones.
Robert enlisted in the Air Force in 1966. He was employed at Cox Cable, Steering Gear and the Saginaw Public Schools. Robert was devoted to baseball. He played and traveled with the Indianapolis Clowns. Robert loved dogs, playing chess, pool and fishing. He touched everyone around him with laughter and humor. Robert loved his children and a special grand-daughter that got away with everything, Alexis Morris. Prior to his passing, Mr. Jones gave his life to Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Duane (Princess) Jones, Burton, Michigan, Antione Lundy, Mobile, Alabama; three daughters, Delonda (Herbert) Morris, Ollie Mae Broxton, ShaQuita Lundy; ten grandchildren, Tatayanna, Zechariah, Jeremiah, Duan, Santavia, Corey Jr., Alexis, Akiyah, Harmonii, Antione J.; two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Jr. and Zarriyah; two sisters, Nina Mae Gaines, Saginaw, Michigan, Elizabeth (Richard) Willoughby, Columbus, Georgia; one brother-in-law, James L. Jackson; many other relatives and friends including a special niece, Earline Drain.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary T. Jones; one sister, Sarah E. Jackson; one niece, Mary Ann Burrell; his ex-wife, Beulah Jones.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Linda, Angie, Carrie, Mike and the wonderful staff of Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center.
