Mr. Robert Charles Baber ‘Pork Chop or Bobby’ was born on May 13, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late George Baber Sr. and Mary Broadnax. He attended Saginaw High School. He was a resident of Grand Rapids, Michigan.


Robert was a hardworking man, working most of his life in manufacturing. He loved his children very much. Many of his friends knew him as Pork Chop. He loved singing, dancing, fishing, baseball, basketball, and football. His favorite thing was grilling as a child he loved the game corn hole.


Robert Charles ‘Pork Chop’ Baber passed away on June 2, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Robert Baber Alexander, Letreauna Lively, Brittnay Glantan, Michael Harper, and Mario Glantan; grandchildren, Pamela, La’Kira, Mi’Kira, Tarriyah Lively, and Jalen Jr., Siara Baber, and Robert Baber III; siblings, Rosemary (Johnny Ray) Moore, George (Angela) Baber, MaryAnn (Roger) Essex); seven nieces; one nephew; seven great-nieces; eleven great-nephews; special cousins, Jackie and Man Burton, and ex-wife, Beverly ‘Gail’ Glantan.


Robert was preceded in death by his father George Baber Sr., grandparents, Charlie and Willie Mae Baber, and John and Lucille Burton; aunts, Catherine ‘Kitty’ Voltz, Bennie Mae Murray; uncles, Charlie Green Baber, Joe Baber, Mellia Thomas, Johnny Mae Davis, Albert Burton, Avele (April) Burton, Christopher Shawn Baber, Lawrence “Dobie’ Baber, Eddie Sims, Charles ‘Poohman’ Haynes, Tristan ‘Bull’ Calhoun, Ronnie Howard, and Robert ‘Bob’ Barnett.
