Robert Collins

Mr. Robert Collins Cool Bob received his wings on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center-Saginaw. Age 59 years. He was born on September 20, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan to Betty Collins and Prince Collins, Jr.


Mr. Collins was a graduate of Saginaw High School, Class of 1974. During high school, he participated in football and track. Robert attended Central Michigan University and later joined the United States Coast Guard, serving until honorably discharged. He was a member of Faith Charity Pentecostal Gospel Church under the leadership of Reverend Ardis L. Thompson. Robert will be missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.


He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Kenyama Jamal (Melissa) Collins, Saginaw, Michigan; two daughters, Mrs. Jene (Marcus) Evans and Tresha Collins of Kalamazoo, Michigan; five grandchildren, Mariah, Zoe, Nadia, Xavier Collins, all of Saginaw, Michigan, and Miya Evans of Kalamazoo, Michigan; mother, Betty Collins; three sisters, Cynthia Collins, Terrilyn ToTo Collins and Mrs. Joy (Calvin) McWright of Saginaw, Michigan; one aunt, Celeste Collins; twelve nieces and twelve nephews; one uncle, Gary Collins, Saginaw, Michigan; many other relatives and friends including the Patterson, McKinney, King, Currington and Williams families; his buddy, Mr. Victor Little.


Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his father, Prince Collins, Jr.; grandparents, Beatrice and James Shavers, Prince Collins, Sr., and Lillie Anderson; brother-in-law, Julian Williams, and many other family members.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. M.A. Kahn, Kayla, Daphney and Ashley of Heartland, and Chaplin Jeff and Emily of Hospice of Bay City.
