Robert Earl "Blue" Jones (Lansing)

Mr. Robert Earl Jones, who affectionally went by “Blue”, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at Dimondale Nursing Center in Dimondale, Michigan at the age of 60 years old. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of Barbara Ann Jones and Robert Watts on Friday, July 3, 1964.

Blue was a resident of Lansing, Michigan since 1989. He was a father of two, Robert Jones, Jr. whom he created with his first love, Vonnie Brown and Brittany Stetitha Jones who was born from his marriage to Angela M. Jones. Blue loved God, going to church, and worship service. He loved his family, which went way beyond blood. He loved people in general, music was his passion. Blue loved to sing usually making up his own words. He was a hard worker from fast foods to management to the carwash to Michigan State University, but more than anything he loved his kids, biological, bonus, nieces, nephews, everyone.

Robert “Blue” leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Brittany Stetitha Jones and son, Robert Jones, Jr. with his 2 siblings; 4 bonus children, Allan Jackson, Dominique Jackson, Desiree Hall, and Sharonda Jackson; 3 grandchildren; mother, Barbara A. Jones; 2 sisters, Michelle Watts and Latonya Jones; brother, Ricky Watts; several nieces including special nieces, Scherrie Giles, Tammy Carter, Shanell Croom, and Tonia Lilly; several nephews including special nephews, Nate Giles, Jr., Andre Giles, Ricky Watts, Jr., Monteese Giles, and Andre Giles, Jr.; aunts, Rose Ford and Carolyn McKenny; uncles, Alvin C. Jones and June Ford; several cousins including Keisha and Shaundra; sisters-in-law, Susie Rogers, Mae Lewis, Trish Giles, Linda Snyder, Theressa Morales-Silvera, Brita Osborne, and Donnie Brown; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Watts; grandparents, Harvey and Ida Jones and Robert, Sr. & Lela Watts; his favorite cousin, Michael Ford; and first love, LaVonne Brown.
