Robert Lee Whitmore (Lansing)

Mr. Robert Lee Whitmore transitioned from this life to Heaven on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at his residence in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 79 years. He was born September 4, 1942, in Brownsville, Tennessee to his parents, LV and Rosalee Drake.

Robert accepted Christ at an early age at Cummings Street Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. His family stayed in Memphis for many years. Robert later moved to Lansing, Michigan where he obtained employment at Kroger grocery Store. He worked there for many years, and he retired from Kroger. Robert also found a new church home at Tabernacle of David Church. He was a faithful member there.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Christie (Marvin, Sr.) Richmond of Memphis, Tennessee; son, Kenneth (Cynthia) Gray of Memphis, Tennessee; grandchildren, Marvin Richmond, Jr., Christopher Richmond, Cynthia Marie Gray, Jerel Gray, and London Richmond; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lucy Monroe of Lansing, Michigan, Frances Drake of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Nancy Bond of Atlanta, Georgia; special sister, Pam Drake-Bond; brother, Michael Drake; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Whitmore; parents, LV and Rosalee Drake; brother, George Drake; and a special friend, his previous wife, Carol Ramsey Whitmore.
