Robert Lee Williams (Lansing)

January 1, 1953 — February 9, 2014

New Year's Day, 1953, Jessie Lee and Theadosie McPeak Williams welcomed a very special gift into their lives, a son, Robert Lee Williams. The son of a minister, Robert (known as Bubba) accepted Christ at an early age at St. Paul Church of God In Christ. Robert attended Lansing Public Schools, graduating from Eastern High School in 1971. In fact Robert helped lead the Eastern Quakers basketball team to a District A Championship Game. In addition to assisting with the family business, Williams and Son, Robert held a variety of jobs before landing permanently at General Motors Service Parts Operations, where he enjoyed 37 years of employment. In 1988, Robert married the love of his life, Judy Daniel, and they enjoyed 26 wonderful years of marriage. God blessed this union with three children.

Robert, a dedicated family man, was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin; known for his exceptional camaraderie to his diverse circle of friends. Robert's love was color blind.

Robert was known by all for his love of motorcycles, (particularly Harley Davidsons). In fact, he bought his first motorcycle at the early age of eighteen, which was a Triumph 650, "The Judge", painted three shades of green! Robert was also an avid outdoorsman. He loved boating, snowmobiling, hunting, camping and building. There really wasn't anything that Robert could not do.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Superintendent Jessie Lee and Theadosie McPeak Williams, sister JessiCa Gregory, niece Stephanie Ann Blair, mother and father-in-Laws Joseph & Reba Daniel. brother-in-law, David Daniel.

Robert leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory, his soul mate, best friend and beloved wife Judy, two daughters Janaye (Charles) Montgomery of Oxford, GA and Maylon Williams of Lansing, MI; one son Jamond Todd-Williams of Lansing, MI; two grandsons Nuri Todd and Robert Allen Wiliams both of Lansing, MI; two sisters Mae (Robert) McGee and Suzanne Davis Minter both of Lansing, MI; three sister-in-laws, Ruby Daniel and Linda Daniel both of Lansing, MI and Eva Gail Daniel of Norfolk, VA; five brother-in-laws Thomas Daniel, Joe Daniel, Jimmy Daniel of Lansing, MI; Tony (Lisa) Daniel of Grand Rapids, MI and Superintendent Delbert Gregory of Novi, MI; one special aunt Janie Sue Robinson of Lansing, MI; two special uncles, Nathaniel Giles, Jr. of Gurdon, AR, Thomas Daniel of Lansing, MI; one God-daughter, Keesha Anderson Trice, and many other relatives and friends, far to numerous to mention.
