Robert Loyd Curry (Lansing)

Mr. Robert Loyd Curry transitioned from life on earth to eternal life on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, Michigan at the age of 56 years old. He was born October 29, 1965, to his parents, Robert Lee and Mary Louise Curry in Frisco City, Alabama.

Robert was three months old when his parents moved the family to Benton Harbor, Michigan. He is the youngest of three siblings. Robert graduated from Benton Harbor High School and later moved to Lansing, Michigan.

Robert met and married the love of his life, Harriette Curry. He was a loving husband of twenty-one years and always there for his wife. If asked to go anywhere or do anything, He would always ask first, “Is Boo going?”

Robert was baptized and joined Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop, Paul Garrett. He later joined Restoration Family Life Church where he was still a member under the leadership of Pastor, Joseph Pruitt.

Robert was employed by Android Industrial until he was no longer able to work. He lived life to the fullest. He believed in living life and having fun.

Robert loved to spend time surrounded by his family. His grandchildren and great grands are special to him, and he let them know by giving each a special nick name. Robert was an avid jokester. His favorite line was to say, “You look a Mess.” He loved to bar-b-q. He also enjoyed being home with Boo and watching sports with the guys.

Robert was crazy about the Dallas Cowboys. Whenever they were playing, he would be dressed in full Cowboys attire, right down to the shoes. The Dallas Cowboys was his Team!

He leaves to cherish in this memory, his loving wife, Harriette Curry; children, Tanisha (Martez) Woods, Rashea (Andre) Holmes, Kevelin Conner, Tawanna (Parnell) Lanier, Shemeckia Conner and Jameka McAbee; nineteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Hister; brother, David (Lorelei) Curry; aunts, Pearlie and Connie Salter; uncles, Thomas (Annie) White. John (Maxine) White, Alphonso Tucker; mother and father-in-law, Ruby (James) Agee; sister-in-law, Annie Chaney; brother-in-law, Tony (Renie) Agee; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Tony Clemmons, Vincent Morgan, Mike Howard, Ricardo Williams, and Bruce Spence.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee and Mary Louise Curry and daughter, Arquetta Monae Bibbs; niece, Renee Curry; and brother-in-law, Nathaniel Hister.
